Botox and hyaluronic acid injections are complementary and help to rejuvenate facial features. These different substances do not treat the same problems. The entire face can be reshaped without scarring and in a matter of minutes. The results obtained are however temporary.

Hyaluronic acid

This molecule is naturally present in our body, in the dermis. The skin is the most important reservoir. Hyaluronic acid retains water, maintains skin hydration and contributes to its tone. Its antioxidant action protects the skin against ultraviolet rays. Hyaluronic acid injections help reduce fine lines and wrinkles present on different areas of the face such as frown lines, crow’s feet, the corners of the lips or nasolabial folds. The injections redesign the volumes of the face, enhance the cheekbones, firm the contours of the face or give more volume to the cheeks. Hyaluronic acid can be used to correct certain imperfections on the chin, nose or oval of the face. The injections plump the lips, restore radiance to the face and reduce the signs of aging.

Botox

Botulinum toxin is more commonly known as botox. This substance is used to treat expression lines. The purpose of injecting botox into the muscle is to tighten the skin by blocking the production of acetylchonin, a neurotransmitter, which leads to paralysis of the latter. This toxin therefore limits the contraction of a muscle locally. Botox is often injected on the upper part of the face, reducing expression lines.
