The different skin types
The type of your skin is partly determined by your genes, however the appearance of the epidermis can vary according to external factors such as pollution, sun exposure, cold, ... or according to internal factors such as stress or food.
Normal skin is a healthy and balanced epidermis. It contains enough water in its epidermis not to be too dehydrated and it is nourished in a balanced way by the fatty substances contained in the epidermis, it is not too oily. Normal skin results in a regular skin texture, a smooth and uniform complexion , non-visible pores, an absence of shine.
Dry skin needs nourishment. When normal skin produces enough sebum, dry skin does not produce enough, lacking fatty substances, it often does not retain enough water and has difficulty defending itself against external aggressions such as the cold. This particularly fine epidermis is more subject to skin aging , the skin texture is tightened. Dry skin is itchy , itchy, rough and scaly.
Oily skin often results in shine , a consequence of an overproduction of sebum. The skin appears thicker and the complexion may be pale. This epidermis is regularly subject to imperfections such as blackheads and acne, the pores are often visible. The unbalanced epidermis produces too much sebum and not enough water.
Combination skin encounters different problems depending on the areas of the face, it is hybrid . Very often, people with combination skin have dilated pores and areas of shine on the T zone (chin, nose, forehead), the epidermis is often drier on the cheeks. Combination skin often results in a lack of lipids and water on the cheeks and an overproduction of sebum on the forehead, nose and chin.
The different states of the skin
If skin types are characteristics, skin conditions can be transient and can change over time, seasons, lifestyles, etc.
Sensitive skin is reactive skin that can be prone to redness and irritation. This skin reacts easily to attacks and can experience itching or feelings of discomfort . The skin can become more sensitive with age, as you age, the hydrological film, which protects the skin, is less efficient, the skin is therefore more sensitive to products. Stress and hormones can also influence skin sensitivity. Changes in temperature, weather, allergies are not neutral and affect the epidermis. Unsuitable products can also sensitize the skin and lead to pimples and plaques.
Dehydrated skin is different from dry skin. Dry skin is an inescapable condition, while dehydrated skin can be reversible. Dehydrated skin lacks water and suppleness , it can be conducive to wrinkles and desquamation . This lack of hydration can be explained by external causes such as pollution, wind, cold, UV, cosmetics and aggressive products, etc. Internal causes can also be at the origin such as stress, changes hormones or just natural aging.
Mature skin is the natural state of skin that ages, loses suppleness, sags and thins. She may be sensitive to the sun or pollution, for example. Mature skin can be prone to pigment spots , it is skin that also tends to feel tight, wrinkles and fine lines appear on the face due to a decrease in collagen and elastin levels.
Acne-prone skin has its share of imperfections. Oily skin, pimples, comedones and pustules can appear on this shiny skin where sebum is often in excess. Acne skin is not reserved for young skin, hormones, diet, stress and lifestyles can affect the quality of the skin.
