Characteristics and definition of skin aging

Aging is a simple process to recognize, but complex in its mechanism.

There are two main causes of skin aging:

- natural aging (under genetic and hormonal influences)

- aging linked to the environment (sun, pollution, food, alcohol and tobacco)

With a healthy lifestyle and the use of skin care with recognized anti-aging properties, it is possible to really reduce the effects of aging on the skin, by preventing and treating it.

The anti-aging action will be all the more effective the earlier prevention is applied. There is always time to start!

Skin aging accelerators

THE SUN : enemy number one of the skin, it is the main factor incriminated in skin aging (UVA and UVB rays). Solution: use a protective cream adapted to your phototype.

POLLUTION : the presence of gas and dust in the air weakens the hydrolipidic film which protects the skin, which causes a deterioration of the physiological mechanisms. Solution: cleanse the skin carefully morning and evening to rebalance it, reoxygenate it and apply a day care in the morning.

THE CLIMATE : cold, wind, but also rapid temperature variations and damp heat are all climatic factors that expose the skin to stress that accelerates aging. Solution: protect and nourish the skin with a protective and nutri-regenerating treatment.

TOXICS : tobacco and alcohol modify the metabolism of epidermal cells and stimulate the production of free radicals. Solution: avoid alcohol and tobacco, and use protective detoxifying and revitalizing treatments.

HYGIENE OF LIFE : sleep deprivation, stress, lack of physical activity, poor nutritional balance are all factors that accelerate skin aging. Solution: know how to listen to your body, take the time to take care of your skin, and prevent aging with daily care adapted to the needs of each skin type.

HORMONES : with menopause, the hormonal balance of women changes and causes a decrease in the thickness of the skin, a loss of tone, significant dehydration. Solution: hydrate* the skin and nourish it with a restructuring and antioxidant treatment.

Know how to recognize the signs of skin aging

The main signs that make it possible to recognize the signs of skin aging are:

- increasingly dry skin that feels tight and loses its suppleness

- deepening fine lines, a tanned appearance of the skin, a dull complexion

- the transparent appearance of small vessels in the skin (capillaries)

- irregular pigmentation, the presence of brown spots (face) or purplish (hands)

- increasingly thin skin, with a tendency to pallor

- increasingly difficult healing

- hair loss and brittle nails

Wrinkles, signs of skin aging

What woman doesn't dread the appearance of wrinkles? Indeed, wrinkles are the most obvious expression of the effects of aging on the skin.

Wrinkles appear in two phases:

- in the form of wrinkles

- then gradual aggravation into deep wrinkles and sagging skin

Fine lines can be delayed by a preventive, moisturizing, nutritious treatment and cell renewal activator. Deeper wrinkles are more appropriate for a remodeling, firming and regenerating anti-wrinkle treatment. The anti-ageing range offers treatments suitable for both situations.

Not All Wrinkles Are Alike

There are also several types of wrinkles, depending on their origin:

- expression wrinkles : caused by facial expression and mimicry, they are located at the level of the forehead, the edge of the eyes, and the furrow between the cheek and the mouth

- involution wrinkles : these are fine and irregular wrinkles, distributed in a weft on the skin and forming a relief

- sagging wrinkles : these are deep wrinkles, almost skin folds that appear when the skin has lost its tone, has thinned and "slackens"

- sun wrinkles : wrinkles linked to repeated exposure to UV rays, they most often appear on uncovered areas.

For each situation, there are suitable solutions.
