What is SOD?
SuperOxide Dismutase (SOD) is an essential antioxidant enzyme, naturally present in our body. SOD is ubiquitous in all forms of life and protects living things from oxidation.
Present inside and outside cell membranes, directly where free radicals are generated, SOD has the power to convert them into non-toxic molecules.
It plays a major role in the prevention of oxidative stress which is one of the main causes of cellular aging and many pathologies.
Far ahead of vitamin C or polyphenols, SuperOxide Dismutase (SOD) is the most effective of all our defenses. However, this is not renewed by food and its activity decreases with age or during so-called oxidative situations.
GliSODin produces vegetable SOD from cantaloupe melons grown in the south of France, particularly in the Avignon region. Thanks to the active ingredient SOD, this specific variety of melons - discovered in 1989 - keeps better than the others and has a shelf life three to four times longer than that of classic melons.
Following this discovery, GliSODin creates food supplements from an innovative complex of natural SuperOxide Dismutase (SOD) derived from a melon extract combined with a wheat protein, which has the essential role of protecting the SOD to make it bioactive.
